Explore Düsseldorf's Nature Reserves with Upcoming Garden Office Tours
Discover the beauty of Düsseldorf's nature reserves with a series of guided tours organised by the Garden Office. Here's an overview of the upcoming excursions:
Urdenbacher Kämpe Excursion
On September 11th and 15th, biologist Dr. Regina Thebud-Lassak and Jörg Schwenzfeier-Brohm will lead tours through the Urdenbacher Kämpe nature reserve. The focus is on the importance of the floodplain landscape as an ecosystem, and visitors can expect to see numerous autumn crocuses covering the regularly flooded meadows, particularly on September 11th.
The meeting point for the September 11th tour is the Baumberger Weg hiking car park, while for the September 15th excursion, it's the "Piels Loch" car park at the corner of Baumberger Weg and Drängenburger Straße. Both tours last approximately 2.5 hours and take place in all weather conditions.
Himmelgeister Rheinbogen Excursion
On September 12th and 17th, biologist Pia Kamberg and guide Annette Höhn will lead tours in the Himmelgeister Rheinbogen nature reserve. The focus is on discovering edible wild and cultivated fruits. The meeting point for both tours is the hiking car park at Kölner Weg.
Other Excursions
On September 18th at 5 pm, Peter Schulenberg will lead a tour titled "The Rathelbecker Heights: A search for traces between the Stone Age and industrialization". The meeting point is the corner of Glashüttenstraße/Rathelbecker Weg.
On September 20th at 3 pm, Dr. Regina Thebud-Lassak will lead a "Wild fruit excursion on the Hubbelrath golf course". The meeting point is the parking lot of the golf club on Bergische Landstraße.
Please note that the tour "The North Cemetery in the mirror of the city's history" on September 26th at 4 pm is fully booked.

A fee of 2.50 euros per adult is charged for the tours, with children under 14 participating free of charge. Prior registration is required, which can be done by phone at 0211 89-94800 or by email at [email protected].
