Autonomous tractor in Ostalbkreis topples onto railway line
In a concerning incident, a 65-year-old driver's unattended tractor rolled onto a railway track near the town of Schwäbisch Gmünd. The tractor, which was parked approximately 300 meters away from the tracks, experienced a loose handbrake, causing it to roll away.
The elderly operator was the only individual involved in the incident. However, the sources do not reveal his name, only his age and the fact that he had parked the tractor a significant distance away from the tracks before the unfortunate event.
As the tractor rolled, it made contact with the overhead line, causing it to topple onto its side. The exact consequences of this contact are not yet clear, but it is fortunate that no injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities are now investigating the cause of the loose handbrake and the circumstances leading to the tractor's rollaway. This incident serves as a reminder to always ensure vehicles are properly secured before leaving them unattended, especially near sensitive areas such as railway tracks.
