Russian automakers and dealers are on the path to stabilising their vehicle inventories, according to analyst Sergei Tselikov. By the end of 2025, he expects the number of unsold vehicles to reach an optimal level of around 350,000 units.

The reduction in vehicle inventory is a result of a decrease in both domestic car production and imported vehicles. This reduction is due to seasonal factors as well as broader economic conditions.

Despite the ongoing economic crisis, positive dynamics in the car market were observed in July, indicating the start of a gradual recovery from the initial decline in 2025. According to Tselikov, Russian automobile manufacturers such as AvtoVAZ, GAZ Group, and Sollers, along with their dealers, will contribute to this stabilisation.

The number of vehicles on the shelves is expected to decrease below 400,000, approaching the 350,000 unit mark by the fall. However, Tselikov did not provide any projections for vehicle inventory levels beyond the end of 2025.

It's important to note that despite the signs of revival, the market continues to experience the effects of crisis phenomena. Tselikov did not discuss any potential strategies to address the reduction in vehicle inventory, nor did he provide any information regarding the impact of the reduced vehicle inventory on the automobile market.

The analytical agency "Autostat", directed by Tselikov, has stated that a significant reduction in vehicle inventory at Russian dealerships is imminent. While the cause of the decrease in imported vehicles is not specified, it is clear that this reduction is playing a significant role in the overall reduction in vehicle inventory.
