Automation expert Xenon broadens its horizons in Dresden through investment for future growth

Xenon Automation Technology, a leading manufacturer of automated production systems, is investing €3.5 million in the construction of another assembly hall in Dresden, Germany. The move aims to improve logistics, centralize production, and boost efficiency at the company's Dresden site.

With around 325 employees at its Dresden site, 90 in China, and 50 in Mexico, Xenon Automation Technology is an "international" company that supplies customers from various industries around the world. The new production hall will help Xenon close an important gap at the production site and facilitate shorter delivery routes.

Sebastian Popp, Director of Production and Purchasing, explains that the new hall will halve the logistics effort. The hall will house the production of future technologies, including electronic components for renewable energy expansion and sensors for autonomous driving.

Xenon Automation Technology has a long history in the Coschütz-Gittersee industrial area, having initially settled there in 1994. Since then, the company has continuously acquired and built assembly space in the area. One of the most significant advancements came in 2024, when Xenon achieved a record turnover of €88 million.

The company's innovative assembly processes, developed in collaboration with Sunfire, a leading manufacturer of hydrogen electrolysers, enable the precise assembly of fuel cell stacks with an integrated layer correction. This ensures the optimal fit and functionality of the stacks.

Xenon Automation Technology is not dependent on just one industry. The company's diversified portfolio includes supplying components for the renewable energy sector, automotive industry, and various other industries. The foreign sites of Xenon are growing particularly fast, with the company employing 90 people in China and 50 in Mexico.

It's worth noting that the investment in the new hall is not related to the announced economic program of the federal government. However, the move is expected to create new job opportunities and boost the local economy.

Despite extensive research, the founding year of Xenon Automation Technology could not be determined. Nevertheless, the company's continued growth and success underscore its commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of automated production systems.
