A fresh take on American dining has arrived in Mayfair with the opening of Automat. Led by One Luxury Group, the restaurant blends mid-century charm with modern sophistication. Its discreet entrance through Tanner Krolle adds a speakeasy touch to the experience.

Automat reimagines classic American comfort food through contemporary techniques. The kitchen serves updated versions of timeless dishes, all presented with Mayfair’s refined polish. Behind the scenes, silent partners include athletes, artists and global cultural figures, though their identities remain undisclosed.

The interiors, crafted by Tomèf Studio, strike a balance between retro diner warmth and sleek elegance. With just 58 covers on the ground floor, the space maintains an intimate, exclusive feel. Guests can enjoy cocktails that reinvent American classics alongside bespoke creations. Looking ahead, Automat will expand in 2026 with a lower-ground American Express Club for major game screenings and private events. An invitation-only American Eagle Supper Club is also planned, offering exclusive dining experiences. Notably, the project draws inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s 500-year-old 'Roboter-Ritter' automaton, featured in the A Kind of Art exhibition at Weserrenaissance-Museum Schloss Brake, with a related talk scheduled for January 26, 2026.
