The city of Augsburg, Germany, is home to the Augsburg Innovation Park, a 70-hectare special research and development zone that brings together some of the country's leading institutions in the fields of resource efficiency and Industry 4.0. The park is a collaborative effort between the University of Augsburg, University of Applied Sciences, Technical School, HWK, and IHK, all working together to drive innovation within the park's boundaries.

Located within the Augsburg Innovation Park are key institutions such as the Fraunhofer Project Group for Functionally Integrated Lightweight Construction, the Center for Lightweight Production Technology of the German Aerospace Center, and the Institute for Materials Resource Management (MRM) of the University and University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. The park also includes the Innovation Park, Weitblick 1.7, and Innovation Campus (Walter Company) areas.

The Augsburg Innovation Park focuses on technologies for resource efficiency, Industry 4.0, and their application. It boasts generous green areas and public spaces with a high quality of stay, making it an attractive location for businesses and researchers alike. In fact, the first construction phase of the park has almost sold out, indicating its popularity and potential for growth.

The park's competence fields include fiber composite technology, mechatronics & automation, aerospace, IT and communication, creative industries, and environment. As of June 14, 2021, hydrogen technology has been added to the list. The master plan and design guidelines for the park are overseen by urban planner Prof. Kees Christiaanse.

One of the park's central features is the Augsburg Technology Center, where different industries and disciplines share their knowledge. The park is also home to the Regus business center, operated by IWG, which offers managed client agreements for the premises, indicating ownership or at least long-term management rights.

For those interested in finding an industrial plot within the Augsburg Innovation Park, the city of Augsburg offers an industrial plot information service. Information on the protection of personal data can be found here.
