Authorities seek vital information following a break-in incident.
In a series of unfortunate events, several burglaries have been reported across cities in North Rhine-Westphalia over the past few days.
On Friday night, a multi-family house in Recklinghausen was the target of a burglary. The incident occurred between the late afternoon of Friday and just after midnight on Saturday, July 26. According to reports, the perpetrators forced open a balcony door on the first floor, which was apparently "on tilt". The method of how they managed to get onto the balcony remains unclear.
During the Recklinghausen burglary, at least jewelry was stolen, and several rooms in the house were searched. A fire extinguisher in a nearby butcher's shop was also emptied.
In a separate incident, a butcher's shop on Philipp-Reis-StraΓe in Recklinghausen was burglarized between Friday night and Saturday morning. The perpetrator, described as approximately 1.70m tall, thin, and wearing a black "full mask" with openings for eyes, forced open a window to gain entry. Some change was stolen from drawers in the office of the butcher's shop, and a fire extinguisher was also emptied during the burglary.
Meanwhile, in Dorsten, a furniture store was burglarized in the night from Friday to Saturday. The perpetrators forced open a window violently and gained access to the interior. Two cash registers were broken into and the cash inside was stolen. Additionally, in the same night, a neighboring company was also broken into, with an unknown perpetrator encountered around 3:00 a.m. It is still unclear whether anything was stolen.
The city of Neuss also experienced several burglaries from Friday evening to Saturday morning. The police are investigating possible connections between these break-ins and evaluating video footage.
