Authorities seek the driver implicated in a vehicular collision involving a 6-year-old child

In the heart of Rostock-Lichtenhagen, on the intersection of Güstrower Straße and Flensburger Straße, a tragic incident occurred on April 10, 2025. A six-year-old boy was involved in a traffic accident that left him with multiple bruises and injuries.

According to the Rostock Criminal Investigation Department, the boy was crossing the road when he collided with a car coming from his left. The impact sent the boy tumbling to the ground. Witnesses reported that the driver and a passenger of the involved vehicle inquired about the child's health and caught the boy's leashed dog, but they later left the scene without notifying the police or emergency services.

The boy was immediately attended to by passersby and later examined by a doctor. Due to the extent of his injuries, he was hospitalized.

The authorities are urging the driver of the involved vehicle to come forward and contact them. Witnesses who observed the incident or have information about the vehicle or the people involved are also asked to cooperate by calling 0381 / 4916 - 1616 or any other police station.
