In Schermbeck-Bricht, a distressing incident occurred on 18.07.2025, when a medium-sized, black dog with white spots was hit by a vehicle on Weseler Straße. The dog, which can be identified by its Blau-rot collar, veered onto the opposite lane and was struck by a 56-year-old female driver from Wesel.

After the collision, the distressed dog ran into a nearby cornfield and has not been found since. The current status of the dog's injuries is unknown. Witnesses and the dog's owner are asked to contact the police in Dinslaken for any information that could help locate the lost pet.
