Authorities Intercept 35-Year-Old Individual on Highway A1
On September 7, at 17:22, police in Münster stopped a 35-year-old driver on the A1 at Ladbergen. The driver was behind the wheel of a Volkswagen, but the license plates on the car were not legally associated with the vehicle. In fact, they were registered to a tractor and a person unknown to the driver.
Witnesses reported that the driver was swerving erratically, driving in a zigzag pattern on the highway. It soon became clear that the driver was not in control of the vehicle due to the substances found in his system.
A voluntary drug test was positive for cocaine, methamphetamine, THC, amphetamine, and MDMA. A voluntary breath test showed a reading of 0.22%. The driver was also found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The driver claimed to have found the license plates, but the search results do not contain information about who may have provided them. The driver did not have a valid driver's license, compounding the seriousness of the situation.
The car the driver was operating had been off the road for several months. Upon stopping the vehicle, police secured the license plates and car keys. The 35-year-old German national now faces a substantial criminal prosecution.
