On Friday, August 29, 2025, a hit-and-run traffic accident occurred on Hauptstraße in Vorhelm, near Beckum. The incident involved a bus and a dark Mercedes transporter.

According to the information transmitted by Polizei Warendorf, the unknown driver of the Mercedes transporter was reportedly driving too fast, using high beams, and fled the scene towards Tönnishäuschen after causing damage to both the bus and a parked car. The driver did not stop after the accident.

The bus driver, a 39-year-old from Münster, was temporarily blinded due to the transporter's high beams. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the bus passengers. However, both the bus and the parked car sustained significant damage, estimated at around 12,000 euros.
