Police warn against approaching murder scene. - Authorities hunt for a man wielding a knife, as shown in a sketch.
Saturday morning, around 9:10 am, a man attacked a bicyclist (49) at the "Westentor" area (near the bus station), using a knife to strike him in the face, then vanished without being identified. The local police made several attempts to capture the suspect, but were unsuccessful. Later, a Dortmund police homicide squad assumed control of the investigation, with the public prosecutor considering this an attempted murder.
Upon further questioning, officers discovered that the injured man was a completely random victim, and his attack appeared to be senseless and unprovoked. This indicates a potentially dangerous individual who may also be prone to committing future acts of violence on others.
Due to the potential risk, the police issued an urgent warning: "If you come across the person in question, please refrain from approaching or drawing their attention, and instead call 110 as quickly as possible to report their whereabouts."

Fortunately, the cyclist's condition is not considered life-threatening. The crime scene in Hammer City received a thorough inspection from forensic technicians, who are also examining a possible murder weapon for any traces of DNA.
The homicide squad later circulated a more detailed description of the attacker:

- Southern European ethnicity
- Male
- 20-30 years old
- Dark skin complexion
- Height: 1.70-1.75 meters
- Lean physique
- Short, black hair
Any witnesses with information about the identity or whereabouts of the attacker are urged to contact the Dortmund police hotline (Tel. 0231 1327441) or the nearest police station.
