Authorities continue to probe into the identity of the culprit and the person harmed.
In the aftermath of the shooting incident in Markgröningen last Monday evening, the investigation is still ongoing, as confirmed by Steffen Grabenstein, spokesperson for the Ludwigsburg police headquarters.
Witnesses reported hearing shots, according to Grabenstein, which has been a key lead in the investigation. Based on these statements, a 24-year-old man was identified as a person of interest. He was taken into investigative custody on August 22, 2025.
However, no further information about traces found at the scene or other clues about the crime has been disclosed by Grabenstein. The criminal police are continuing their investigation on Wednesday, but as of a week after the incident, no suspects or victims have been presented to the public.
Grabenstein, in his statement, is currently assuming that the witnesses' perceptions about shots being fired are correct. The investigation remains active, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
