In a shocking incident that took place on October 23, 2024, a 61-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, both German citizens, were attacked by an unknown man in a forest section located between Bansin and the Ueckermünde camping site, northeast of the Baltic Sea and southwest of the L266 road.
The incident occurred around 2:00 PM. The unknown man punched the man several times in the face and threatened the woman with violence when she did not hand over her phone. The victims sustained slight injuries in the attack.
The suspect, described as having approached from another forest path, then fled towards the L266 road. A search of the immediate area for the suspect was unsuccessful.
The police have launched investigations for simple bodily harm and attempted robbery. The police are asking witnesses with information about the suspect, possibly with injuries to his fist, to report to the Heringsdorf police station or the Police Inspectorate Anklam.
