NHL victory dreams persist for Draisaitl. - Author of children's books ranks as Leon's top goal-scorer.
Two top NHL teams went head-to-head in an intense match on Tuesday night. The Edmonton Oilers, with star player Leon Draisaitl at the helm, triumphed over the Vancouver Canucks, winning 3-2.
During the game, Draisaitl played a vital role in helping the Oilers establish their lead with an important assist, bringing the score to 3-0. He's been a force to reckon with, netting 24 points (8 goals) in just 12 games of the final round – leading the league by a long shot. Another player is also making waves in this sphere, however.

Teammate Zach Hyman is neck-and-neck with Draisaitl in terms of scoring. He notched 11 goals in the first two final series against Los Angeles and Vancouver. In the match against Vancouver, Hyman did a heroic deed, blocking the opposition's goal at just the right time, resulting in a 2-0 score. Talk about a perfect timing!

Hyman's story has all the elements of a fairytale. From late bloomer to maverick hockey star, his journey is nothing short of extraordinary. He may be a formidable defenseman on the ice, but he's a gentle soul off of it.

Hyman's personal life is filled with love and family. He's been married to his college sweetheart Alannah since 2019, and together they have two sons. Before he made a name for himself in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs (from 2015), he was already an accomplished writer.

Hyman's success in scripting children's books came before his sports career took off. He authored books that explored themes of friendships, dreams, and overcoming physical and emotional challenges. He even contemplated giving up his sports career to focus on his writing full-time.

His ice hockey heroics didn't prevent him from mastering the craft of storytelling. He penned down popular titles such as "Hockey Hero" and "The Bambino and me". These stories were aimed at helping kids tackle insecurities, believe in their dreams, start their lives with self-confidence, and develop a healthy respect for their rivals.

But when it comes to the game, the smooth-skating center (who now predominantly plays as a winger) isn't a mild-mannered author. A bit of a wild card, he's known to spark wild fights on the ice. Off the ice, unarmed and without skates, Hyman spends his leisure time helping the disadvantaged, organizing charity golf tournaments, and carving out time for reading and visiting children's hospitals.

The Oilers' hockey trifecta – including Draisaitl, McDavid, and Hyman – has their work cut out for them in the semi-finals of the regional playoffs. The Dallas Stars are no pushovers, earning the title for the top Western team in the first half of the season. The first game of their best-of-seven series is set for Thursday night.
It doesn't matter if you're young or old, as fans we're eagerly awaiting another captivating fairytale of these ice hockey heroes!
