University Library in Augsburg Introduces New Classes for Students

The University Library in Augsburg has announced the introduction of classes and courses designed to help students make the most of its resources. These classes, open to students from grade 11 and above, aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of library usage, information literacy, and the library's extensive collection.

The classes will take place at the University Library's physical location, which can be found at Universitätsstraße 22, 86159 Augsburg. The library complex includes the Central Library and several branch libraries, all of which will be explored during the tour that forms part of the classes.

During the classes, students will learn about the library's online catalog (OPAC) and database information system (DBIS). They will also be shown how to access and use these systems to find the resources they need, including books, articles, and digital materials.

The classes will cover practical aspects of library usage, such as borrowing, copying, and scanning. Students will also be introduced to the Gateway Bayern, the catalog of the Bavarian library network, which allows for interlibrary loan.
