The automotive world is abuzz with anticipation as Audi prepares to unveil its latest electric offering, the Audi A6 e-tron, tomorrow, July 31, 2024. This marks Audi's entry into the competitive German premium mid-size EV market.

The new A6 e-tron will be priced higher than the current ICE model, the A7, with prices in the UK ranging from £70,000 to £100,000. The arrival of the new A6 e-tron will also see the ICE model updated to become the new A7, while Audi is dropping the current coupe A7 in the process.

The new A6 e-tron is expected to have a range of over 400 miles and will be built on the PPE architecture, which is co-developed with Porsche and also underpins the new Macan Electric. The vehicle will be available as a Sportback or Avant, with an electric A6 Avant by 2024 already indicated by the Audi A6 Avant e-Tron Concept that has been revealed.

The design of the new A6 e-tron is expected to be similar to the A6 e-tron Concept shown a couple of years ago. The new electric Audi A6 e-tron will have three trim options and two powertrains, although specific details about these powertrains have yet to be revealed.

The new A6 e-tron is expected to produce around 396bhp, while the S6 variant may produce over 500bhp. Moreover, the new electric Audi A6 e-tron will have an 800-volt setup with a 100kWh battery, but the company that supported the development of the new vehicle architecture for the Audi A6 e-tron remains undisclosed.

The new electric Audi A6 e-tron goes on sale in the UK on September 2, 2024, targeting the BMW i5 and Mercedes EQE. The A6 e-tron is set to join the electric vehicle race, further expanding Audi's electric vehicle portfolio and its commitment to a sustainable future.
