Attempted Murder Investigation: Collaborative Statement from Bielefeld Prosecutor's Office and Bielefeld Police Headquarters Regarding MK Duisburg Incident in Bielefeld.
In the early hours of this morning, a dispute on the parking lot of a disco on Duisburger Street in Brackwede led to multiple injuries. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld and the Homicide Commission "Duisburg" of the Police Presidency in Bielefeld have initiated investigations into the incident.
The dispute, which occurred around 3:20 AM, resulted in three individuals being temporarily arrested. These include a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old from Leopoldshoehe, and an 18-year-old from Lage. The arrests were made in an adjacent allotment garden by service dog Happie from PP Bielefeld.
Among the injured is a 16-year-old from Halle/Westfalen, who sustained severe lung injuries and underwent emergency surgery at the hospital. The young individual's condition is currently critical. Additionally, a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old from Paderborn, and another unidentified individual, were also injured in the incident. The latter two victims went to the hospital on their own.
The perpetrators initially fled the scene of the crime. Two groups of people were involved in the dispute, and the background to the crime, including whether there were previous disputes in the disco, are part of the ongoing investigations.
Witnesses are asked to provide any relevant information about the crime, the people involved, and any image or video material to the MK "Duisburg" at 0521 / 545-0. Investigations are ongoing regarding the involvement of the arrested individuals in the crime. The identities of the perpetrators have yet to be disclosed to the public.
The Public Prosecutor's Office and the Homicide Commission are urging anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward. The safety and wellbeing of the community remains their top priority.
