Art Event: Seventeen Bags Narrate Tales at Resurrection Church Arnsberg - Commences From August 15
The Auferstehungskirche in Arnsberg has been revitalised, transforming its church space into a vibrant venue for art and communication. From August 15 to August 24, the church will be hosting a unique pocket exhibition, titled "Everyday Companions: Bags", as part of the Cultural Summer 2025.
This thought-provoking exhibition offers visitors a multifaceted encounter with the ordinary yet profound objects - bags. These bags, hanging from the ceiling, tell captivating stories of the artists' lives, each one a testament to a life well-lived.
The exhibition features 17 objects, including bags transformed into storytelling artworks by 10 talented Arnsberg artists. Among the artists showcasing their bag dreams and associations are Norbert Baumeister, Christel and Siegfried Deventer, Hans Michael Fraikin, Inge Maag-Cordes, Arno Mester, Ulrike Naroska-Krause, Katharina Reinartz-Nebe, Hartmut Richard Schrรถder, and Heike Wiegand-Baumeister.
Katharina Reinartz-Nebe, a resident of Neheim, conceived the idea for this exhibition. She approached the Arnsberg cultural office and successfully motivated the transformation of the church space into a place for art, exchange, and communication during the cultural summer.
Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to discuss the artwork with the artists themselves, making for a truly immersive and engaging experience. The church space is open from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, except on Monday, August 18.
