Arrested in Görlitz, Temporarily Held in Cottbus: BPOLI LUD Case

In a series of recent incidents, the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf has been actively involved in investigating alleged illegal migration cases in the cities of Cottbus and Görlitz.

On Monday afternoon, two Afghan nationals, aged 37 and 46, were found by the Federal Police on the Görlitz city bridge, attempting to cross the border by city bus from Zgorzelec to Görlitz. This was not an isolated incident, as an 18-year-old Afghan national was temporarily detained by the Federal Police Inspectorate Forst at Cottbus station.

The smuggled individuals in both cities are confirmed to have known each other. The two companions, aged 17 and 28, were smuggled into the federal territory in Görliz and have since been rejected back to Poland. The 18-year-old Afghan national, who has been living in Görlitz for some time, is believed to be responsible for smuggling activities, including other incidents.

A search of the 18-year-old's residence, conducted on Tuesday evening, confirmed this connection. The investigations are ongoing, and further details may be released as information becomes available. It should be noted that these two individuals have not been confirmed to be part of a larger organized smuggling network.

The Federal Police was involved in the detection and rejection of the smuggled individuals. The investigations may lead to additional arrests or charges related to the smuggling activities. The authorities urge anyone with information relevant to these investigations to come forward.

The public is reminded that illegal migration is a serious offence and poses significant risks to individuals involved. The Federal Police is committed to maintaining the security and integrity of Germany's borders and ensuring that laws are upheld.
