Arrest Made for Mobile Phone Theft: Alleged Perpetrator Detained by Law Enforcement

On July 24, 2025, a mobile phone was stolen at Listplatz. The victim and his companion had met with an unknown person near a patrol car in Steinenbergstraße to discuss the stolen device. The suspect, an 18-year-old Tunisian national with a history of theft-related offenses and no fixed address in Germany, fled the scene on a bicycle.

The investigation into the case was taken up by the Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen and the Criminal Investigation Department Reutlingen. On August 12, 2025, the suspect was arrested by deployment forces in Reutlingen. The cyclist was found again in the area of Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and temporarily arrested after a brief foot pursuit in Lederstraße.

The bicycle used and suspected of being stolen earlier was secured. The suspect was taken to the police station and presented to the judge at the Tübingen District Court. The judge issued the arrest warrant requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office and enforced it. The suspect is currently in custody.

The head of the Reutlingen police headquarters, where the suspect was taken into custody in the specified case, is not publicly disclosed. The suspect was taken to a detention facility following the arrest.
