Arrest and seizure of vehicle concludes police pursuit
In an incident that unfolded near Brackeler Straße on September 2nd, Dortmund police apprehended a 52-year-old man from Breckerfeld following a high-speed chase.
The sequence of events began when a driver of a silver BMW ignored a general traffic stop. The chase, which ended on a factory premises in Eberhardstraße, saw the BMW collide with a police car. However, thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.
The abandoned BMW was found on a nearby industrial site and secured as evidence. The man was eventually apprehended by civilian enforcement units on a nearby vacant lot. After the blood sample was taken at the police station, the man was released.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the man's identity and the charges against him, if any. It is also suspected that the BMW had already damaged a parked vehicle at another location prior to the incident.
