Armed Victim Apprehends Robbery suspect
In Hanau, a 27-year-old man, known to the police and suspected of street robbery, was apprehended following an incident on a field path at An der Goldgrube in Mittelbuchen.
The incident began when a 22-year-old woman from Hanau was approached by the suspect who demanded her handbag. However, the woman refused the demand and struck the suspect in the face, causing a scuffle.
During the scuffle, the suspect sustained injuries and was taken for outpatient treatment. The woman's loud cries for help alerted nearby people who intervened and held the suspect until the responding police arrived.
The intervening people then handed the suspect over to the police, who have since charged him with robbery. The suspect has been released after giving a blood sample and is now liable for bail.
