Armed sexual assault suspect identified in the incident that inspired Renfrew's shelter-in-place advisory on Thursday night is on the run, according to the OPP.
In Renfrew, Ontario, an extensive manhunt is underway for a suspect wanted in connection with an alleged armed sexual assault at a motel on Raglan Street North. The incident occurred on August 28, prompting a shelter-in-place advisory around 9 p.m. that was lifted shortly before 1 a.m.
The police are seeking Dwayne Cruse Jr., who is described as a man between five feet nine inches and six feet tall. He has hair on top of his head and shaved sides. The suspect is also known for his distinctive features: a goatee and tattoos, including a five-star above his left eyebrow and another under his left eye.
The suspect was last seen wearing a purple plaid jacket, possibly black shorts, and a blue shirt. Anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 911 without approaching him. Anyone with any information is asked to call 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident No. E251166365.
The police search for the suspect was initiated after the alleged incident, during which the suspect was reportedly armed with a handgun. After the incident, the suspect was spotted walking in the area and fled onto the Algonquin Trail.
