Armed and youthful suspect apprehended for shoplifting
In the heart of Hagen-City on Thursday, 4th September 2025, an unusual shoplifting incident unfolded. A 20-year-old individual attempted to steal several items from a supermarket located on Elberfelder Street in the city centre.
According to reports from Polizei Hagen, transmitted via news aktuell, the incident occurred around 3:30 PM. A store detective noticed the 20-year-old packing items and preparing to leave without paying. The detective was able to intervene and stop the suspect.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police officers seized a knife that was found in the suspect's waist pouch. They also recovered the stolen goods from his backpack.
