Artists Gather for Unique 'Drink and Draw' Event on Guernsey's Idyllic Les Joannet Beach

Caitlin Grupping, the organiser of the 'Drink and Draw' group in Guernsey, led a group of 22 artists on an adventurous journey to Les Joannet beach for a special hour-long life drawing session earlier this week.

The event, described as diverse, supportive, and uplifting, took place by making a journey along the cliff, down a ladder, and across boulders. The picturesque location was the perfect backdrop for the artists as they captured their creative vision.

Caitlin expressed her pleasure with the supportive atmosphere of the group, and her gratitude for living in Guernsey, which allows for experiences like the 'Drink and Draw' event. She even suggested chartering a boat to make the beach events more accessible for future sessions.

The life drawing session was just the beginning of a series of events celebrating the 'Drink and Draw' group's fifth anniversary. Guernsey Arts is providing support for the community exhibition, which will open to the public on Saturday 11 October at the George Crossan Gallery.

Submissions for the community exhibition, which will feature any work created during 'Drink & Draw' sessions, are invited and the deadline for submissions is the end of September. The exhibition is a part of the local art club's fifth anniversary celebrations and will showcase the diverse range of art created by the group's members.

Caitlin expressed her gratitude to Guernsey Arts and the local art club for their support and for helping to make the 'Drink and Draw' group's anniversary celebrations a success. She looks forward to seeing the wide range of submissions for the community exhibition and to continuing to grow and support the 'Drink and Draw' group in Guernsey.

For more information about the community exhibition or to submit your work, visit the Guernsey Arts website or contact Caitlin Grupping directly. The 'Drink and Draw' group in Guernsey continues to be a vibrant and welcoming community for artists of all levels and backgrounds, and new members are always welcome.
