Racing Roundup: Notable Horses and Jockeys to Watch

In the upcoming racing events, several horses and jockeys are poised to make their mark.

Chicory impressed at Newbury in its last race, securing a victory that has earned it a spot in the ten-runner line-up for the Group 3 Unibet Sirenia Stakes. The horse will be looking to continue its winning streak.

Rogue Messiah, trained by Alan King, will attempt to defy a 7lb penalty in Thirsk's feature 6f novice race. The horse made a successful debut last month, despite doing much wrong, and will now be ridden by Eddy Greatrex, as Kieran Shoemark is unavailable.

Jannas Journey, trained by Jim Goldie, has been in fine form since joining the stable, winning five of its nine starts. If it manages to win the 7f fillies' handicap at Thirsk, its strike-rate will rise to an impressive 60%.

Finest View and Black Hawk Eagle will clash again in a 2m1f handicap chase at Stratford. Finest View was beaten only a neck by Arclight off a higher mark in a better grade on its last outing, while Black Hawk Eagle reopposes Finest View on 10lb better terms.

Vincent Rocks defied a penalty to give upwards of 5lb and a three-quarter length beating to 12 rivals at Southwell on its next start. The horse's impressive form was evident in its third place at Nottingham, where it chased home subsequent Listed fourth Trad Jazz and the winner from its debut third at Kempton in July 2024, Alla Stella, which went on to be third in a Curragh Group 3.

Dancingintherain, despite being a beaten favourite on its last two starts, has shown promising form. The horse's Nottingham third has worked out well, with the second-placed horse, Mezcala, going on to win a Lingfield maiden on its next outing. Sean Dylan Bowen has been booked to ride for Godolphin and Saeed bin Suroor for the first time in the 1m1.5f maiden at Wolverhampton, and he has an excellent chance to impress on Dancingintherain.

Cactus, trained by Charlie Appleby, has been ridden by Wayne Lordan on three of its four starts. However, for the feature 6f race at Navan, Aidan O'Brien has entrusted Freya Frain with the task of riding Cactus. Meanwhile, Beckford's Folly, another trainee of Appleby, will be making its all-weather debut in the Group 3 Unibet Sirenia Stakes. Oisin Murphy will ride Beckford's Folly, with William Buick taking the reins for the race at Navan. Beckford's Folly has won its last two starts and will be a formidable competitor.

Alex Chadwick has had a successful season at Stratford, riding three winners from four rides. He will ride Laser Focus in the opening seller at Stratford.

These horses and jockeys promise to add excitement to the upcoming racing events. Keep an eye out for their performances!
