Appointment of New Academics to the Provost's Financial Compensation Council for Faculty Members

The Provost's Faculty Salary Advisory Committee (PFSAC) for the academic year 2025-26 has been announced, bringing together a diverse group of faculty members from various departments across Syracuse University.

The PFSAC is a University-level group that provides guidance on full-time faculty salary appeals. This committee plays a crucial role in ensuring fairness and consistency in the salary appeals process.

The members of the PFSAC are jointly selected by the Provost and the chair of the University Senate. This year's committee includes:

  • Chris Johnson, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS).
  • Soo Yeon Hong, a member of the PFSAC, and she is an associate teaching professor of public relations at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
  • Theresa Singleton, a member of the PFSAC, and she is a professor of anthropology at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
  • Jonna Gilfus, a member of the PFSAC, and she is an associate teaching professor of writing studies, rhetoric and composition at A&S.
  • Susan Albring, a member of the PFSAC, and she is a professor of accounting at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
  • PJ DiPietro, a member of the PFSAC, and she is an associate professor of women's and gender studies at A&S.
  • Sinéad Mac Namara, a member of the PFSAC, and she is an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at ECS and the School of Architecture.
  • Radhakrishna (Suresh) Sureshkumar, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at ECS.
  • Natarajan Gautam, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a professor of electrical engineering and computer science at ECS.
  • Robert Bifulco, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a professor of public administration and international affairs at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
  • Melissa Luke, a member of the PFSAC, and she is the Dean's Professor at the School of Education.
  • Judy Teng, a member of the PFSAC, and she is an associate teaching professor at the College of Professional Studies.
  • Christopher Scholz, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a professor of Earth and environmental sciences at A&S.
  • Suzette Meléndez, a member of the PFSAC, and she is a teaching professor at the College of Law.
  • Kivanc Avrenli, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a professor of practice in finance at the Whitman School.
  • Bradley Ethington, a member of the PFSAC, and he is a professor of music at the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

The pool of nominees for the PFSAC is brought forward by deans and the senate agenda committee. The search results do not provide the names of the chairs of the University Senate who were considered for selecting members of the PFSAC for the academic year 2025-26.
