Anticipated Foldable iPhone Model Incorporating Touch ID within Side Button

In a recent update, renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his latest prediction about the upcoming foldable iPhone, also known as the "iPhone Fold". According to Kuo, the first foldable iPhone will feature a Touch ID sensor integrated into the side button.

This prediction contradicts the previous expectation of an under-display fingerprint sensor for the first foldable iPhone. Kuo has expressed doubt about market rumors suggesting an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor for the device.

The foldable iPhone is expected to have a book-like design with a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer display. The device will also boast a dual-camera system, including a front camera for both folded and unfolded states.

Kuo's prediction regarding the Touch ID sensor contradicts the common belief that the first foldable iPhone would have an under-display fingerprint sensor. The timeline for the market launch of the foldable iPhone suggests a release in autumn 2027, based on the expected production in the second half of 2026.
