Annual Festivity in Rösrath 2023

The much-anticipated Rosenheim Carnival is set to begin on Thursday, 16 February, marking the start of a week-long celebration filled with parades, parties, and festivities. This year, the carnival season will be free from COVID-19 restrictions, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the joyous spirit of the event.

The carnival events are organised by various associations and groups, including the Community Dörper Einigkeit Forsbach- Club of Merriment- KG Treue Elf Forsbach- Great Rosenheim Carnival Society- Sponsoring Circle Kinderdreigestirn Rosenheim- Durbuscher Guard- KG Loathsome Forsbach- Rosenheim Citizens' Guard- Rosenheim Community- Rosenheim Jecken. Each group contributes unique elements to the celebrations, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for all.

Early birds are invited to the Rosrath Rosenmontag parade route on Monday, 20 February, at 10 am to catch sweets and other treats. The first Carnival parade of the season, beginning Sunday, 19 February, will take place in the Cologne suburb of Rosrath, specifically in the Rosrath district of Forsbach, starting at 2 pm.

The Rosenheim Carnival Committee believes that the carefree spirit is back, purifying souls and strengthening the community. The committee has planned a series of events to cater to all ages. For instance, children can look forward to the children's session, which includes an invitation to the restaurant Kochmütze, laughter, dancing, and the awarding of the most beautiful costume. This event is scheduled for Friday, 17 February.

Adults, on the other hand, can enjoy the Hofburg party, which will take place on Saturday, 18 February, at the Altvolberger Hof. Here, you can enjoy jokes, sketches, and dance performances. The Rosenheim prince's guard hosts this event, adding an extra dose of charm to the proceedings.

The Bergisch Session invites participants on Saturday 11 February, starting at 7:30 pm in the community hall of the evangelical church in Rosenheim. The Dreigestirn's Party of Dörper Einigkeit is scheduled for Friday, 10 February, at Steini's Festival Tent, starting at 8 pm.

The carnival season will culminate on Shrove Tuesday, 21 February, with the Rosrath Princes' Ball marking the end of the varied celebrations. This event invites attendees to look back and ahead, making it a perfect conclusion to the festivities.

The actual carnival season begins on Thursday, 16 February, with women taking command of the town hall at 11.11 am. The motto of the 2022/23 Rosenheim Carnival season is "Lommer fiere un danze," which translates to "Let's dance and have fun."
