Annual Comparative Study places Saxony and Bavaria at the forefront of educational rankings - Annual Comparative Study Rankings: Saxony and Bavaria Highly Ranked in Education

In a recent study conducted by the Institute of the German Economy (IW), commissioned by the Initiative Neue Soziale Marktwirtschaft (INSM), Saxony has been ranked as the top performer in the education sector among German federal states. The data for the study primarily comes from the years 2023 and 2024.

Bavaria follows closely behind Saxony, securing the second spot in the education ranking. The indicators for the evaluation were primarily considered from an economic perspective, taking into account their impact on securing skilled workers and promoting growth.

At the bottom of the ranking, we find Saxony-Anhalt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Brandenburg, and Bremen. Bremen, in particular, stands out with the highest proportion of students not meeting the minimum standards in school.

Hamburg, Baden-Württemberg, and Thuringia also rank higher than other federal states in the education ranking. The annual education ranking study, first compiled in 2004, includes 98 indicators such as school dropout rates, availability of full-day care, and educational poverty levels.

This comprehensive study aims to provide insights into the performance of Germany's education systems and their contribution to the overall economic growth and development of the country. The results underscore the importance of investing in education and fostering an environment that promotes learning and skills development.

The study's findings serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, educators, and the public as they work towards improving the education system and ensuring a bright future for Germany's youth.
