In a grand celebration of innovation and creativity, the Design Awards 2025 have been announced, recognising outstanding achievements in various fields. Here's a roundup of the winners across design and interiors, fashion, beauty, technology, architecture, art and culture, and hospitality.

Design and Interiors

The design and interiors category saw a multitude of awards given to exceptional pieces. The Kasper 7 yacht by Nisrine Karagulla and Giorgio Cassetta for Benetti stood out with its calm design and touch of whimsy. Meanwhile, the Anticline stove-top espresso maker by Cultivation Objects was honoured for its defining contours.

In the furniture and artworks sector, MycoWorks, a San Francisco company, inspired beauty with their fungal-based biomaterial, particularly with the 'Mycelium Muse' collection. A series of winners also emerged in this category, including the 'Serwaa' chair, 'Philae AL' shelving, '123' chair, 'Adrien' table, 'Vessel 2024' vase, 'Superwire' lamp, 'Pillow' chair, 'Ethan' coffee tables, 'Gathering' lamp, 'Card' bookcase, 'Pilotis' two-light candelabra, 'Set' lamp, 'Squash' side table, 'Post' floor lamp, 'Vessel No. VII' in ochre, 'Vessel No. IV' in aged bronze, 'Cornaro' armchair, 'Aluminium Cast Connection' chair, 'Kaleidoscope' side table, 'Cast' speaker, and 'Spherical' bed.

The Lavaforming project by Reykjavik-based architect Arnhildur Palmadottir was celebrated for its exploration of sustainable solutions and vision of a future where cities could be built by channelling lava flows into trenches. Interni Venosta, a new furniture brand by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, offered a perfectly pitched celebration of craft, quality, and nostalgia.

Fashion

In the fashion world, Victoria Beckham, Prada, Craig Green, Alaïa, Marni, Hodakova, Duran Lantink, Loewe, JW Anderson, Louis Vuitton, and Issey Miyake were the fashion award winners for S/S 2025. Stone Island received a nod for its material innovation.

Beauty

The beauty category saw a playful approach from the winners, with Hermès, Dior, Celine, Prada, and Chanel taking centre stage. The Glass 001 face mask, by Pat McGrath Labs won the award for best make-up technique.

Art and Culture

Tate Modern, London, was honoured in the art and culture category for its celebration of shapeshifting artists. The L'Observatoire Suite by JR at the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express was recognized for the best slow journey.

Architecture

The winners of the Design Awards 2025 in the category of architecture included the Limbo Museum, Ghana, as the best architectural legacy. The best modernist revival was Finlandia Hall, Helsinki, Finland. The Emory, London was honored for its best suites.

Hospitality and Culinary Arts

The Wilde, Milan was celebrated as the best social hub. We Are Ona, a culinary creative studio, turned the fine dining experience into an art form at pop-ups around the world. Vipp Todos Santos was praised as the best home away from home. Locke de Santa Joana, Lisbon was the best opening for this year.

Technology

The Transparent Brutalist speaker, Marantz Grand Horizon speaker, Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H100 headphones, reMarkable Paper Pro paper tablet, Leica D-Lux 8 camera, and Fujifilm X100VI camera were the best contemporary technology designs.

Lastly, the 'Spherical' bed, a design reissue by Kaare Klint for Carl Hansen & Søn, celebrated the past and the future. London design duo Isabel + Helen created the kinetic cover artwork for the Design Awards 2025 issue.

The Lavaforming project by Reykjavik-based architect Arnhildur Palmadottir explores sustainable solutions and envisions a future where cities could be built by channelling lava flows into trenches. Design duo Formafantasma were honoured for their exhibition 'La Casa Dentro' (The Home Within) at ICA Milano, which takes to task modernism's inherent masculinity and conservatism, exploring what was left behind - decoration, ornamentation, and sentimental charm.

JB Blunk rings - each one a wearable sculpture - are reproduced in a collaboration between LA jewellery designer J Hannah and the JB Blunk Estate. Loewe's 'Squeeze' bag from the A/W 2024 womenswear collection is honored as the 'best produce'.

The 'Eri' armchair by Fumie Shibata for Flexform is described as a sculptural elegance balanced with the feeling of giving a good hug. The best landscape was Marche Arboretum, Belgium. Rotterdam, The Netherlands, was celebrated as the best urban rethink.

The 'SensiTerre' ceramic surface collection by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana for Florim is an ode to tactility. The S/S 2025 collection by Saint Laurent was recognized as the 'best doppelgänger'. The best retreat was El Aleph Guest House by MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple, Canada.

Jaguar's Type 00 concept car is applauded for thinking big and shunning slavish imitation. No available information identifies the architect who developed the Lavaforming project in Reykjavik.

This year's Design Awards 2025 showcased a remarkable array of talent and creativity across various fields, setting a high bar for future innovations.
