Anniversary celebration at a castle, commemorating the Landshut wedding
After a two-year hiatus, the Landshuter Hochzeit 1475 castle festival is set to return to Schloss Trausnitz from Thursday, June 26th to Saturday, June 28th. The event, which celebrates the 550th anniversary of a historic meeting that took place on Burg Trausnitz in 1473, promises an immersive medieval experience for all.
Stefan Feigel, the first Chairman of the organizing association "Die Förderer" e.V., expresses his delight about the upcoming event. Details of the festival are meticulously planned, with a diverse array of performers set to entertain visitors.
The festival will feature city guards, musicians, flag throwers, foot soldiers, jugglers, city pipers, bagpipe players, zink players, trumpeters, shawm players, ducal court music, imperial trumpeters, the king of Poland's trumpeters, Landshuter Hofkapelle, drummers and pipers, Palatine pipers, morris dancers, wandering comedians, fire dancers, jesters, Cantafollia, scholars, Musica Cumpaneia, Salzburg trumpeters, and more.
In addition to the performances, visitors can expect medieval music, comedians, sword fights, throwing banners, jugglers, and a beer garden. Special attractions include concerts by foot soldiers in the inner courtyard, Landshuter Hofkapelle in the White Hall, and Ad libitum with Musica Cumpaneia in the Georgskapelle. Each of these concerts requires an additional entrance fee of 15 euros.
The interior rooms of the castle will feature courtly and spiritual music of the Middle Ages. The festival will also integrate a historically documented story, featuring "The Polish delegation" this year.
Admission prices for adults are 12 euros, while students, children under 12, and people with disabilities pay 8 euros. Children under 12 enter free but require a ticket. Tickets will be available for online purchase exclusively on Saturday, May 24th at 9 AM on landshuter-hochzeit.ticket.io. Tickets will also be available at the box office on the day of the event.
