Recently, there have been investigations into fraud and body manipulation at Del Carmen Funeral Home. Joaquín Guzmán López, son of "El Chapo", had his hearing postponed again in the US, rescheduled for November. The operations involved elements of the State Investigation Agency, agents of the Public Ministry, and personnel from the Ecology Directorate of the Animal Protection Division. In August last year, 22 animals were rescued from abuse in Juárez City. The Municipal Police or the Anti-rabies Center (tel. 459-3834) can also be contacted depending on the case.
In Chihuahua, the Animal Care and Well-being Directorate can be contacted via WhatsApp at (656) 554 3391 to report animal abuse. The animals were transferred to the Municipal Animal Rescue and Adoption Center (RAMM) in Juárez City. In the Ciudad Moderna neighborhood, two female Pitbull dogs, one female Husky dog, and five mixed breed dogs were rescued. In various neighborhoods, two mixed breed male dogs, three mixed breed female dogs, one mixed Chihuahua female dog, one mixed Pitbull female dog, one feline, three roosters, and three hens were rescued.
For a formal complaint, it is recommended to bring official identification, describe the facts in detail, and present evidence. All the rescued animals received veterinary care and shelter at the RAMM.
The investigation into the Fuel Theft Ring has been marked by five deaths: Sergio Carmona, Abraham Jeremías Pérez, among others. The Northern District Fiscal Office carried out search warrants in several neighborhoods of Juárez City. Arsenal and protected wildlife were discovered in a property allegedly linked to "El Mamado", a key figure of La Barredora in Tabasco. A rehabilitation center in Jalisco has been closed due to a child abuse allegation, but this is not related to the previous animal abuse cases in Chihuahua.
