Tragic crash takes place in central Berlin. - An automobile collides with an e-scooter, causing it to ram into a kiosk at Zoo station.
Around 9:30 PM, a Nissan hit a person riding an electric scooter and then careened onto the sidewalk.
During the incident, the Nissan crashed into a road sign, a barrier for roadworks, and a pedestrian traffic light. The vehicle eventually crashed into the pillar of a store that stays open late, which is usually crowded with people.
Berlin Fire Brigade spokesman James Klein initially reported that the driver of the Nissan and a pedestrian sustained serious injuries and were both hospitalized. The person on the e-scooter was treated but unharmed.
The police are now looking into what led to this serious accident.
This junction was temporarily closed over a vast area, disrupting local traffic.
