Amazon surpasses the sale of 250 million Fire TV devices, broadens its product range
Amazon has taken a significant step forward in its quest to make TVs smarter, as announced by Daniel Rausch, vice president of Alexa and Fire TV. The tech giant has introduced a new lineup of smart TVs, headlined by the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series, along with the Fire TV Soundbar Plus Series and a redesigned Fire TV 4-Series.
The Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series is a game-changer, marking Amazon's first foray into TV manufacturing with an AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification. This certification ensures a premium gaming experience, delivering smooth and responsive visuals.
The new series also boasts an impressive cinematic QLED Mini-LED display, capable of delivering up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness. To enhance the viewing experience further, the Omni Mini-LED Series supports Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, ensuring exceptional picture quality in various lighting conditions.
For audiophiles, the Fire TV lineup introduces support for Dolby Atmos audio, with two powerful speakers and up to two built-in subwoofers. This results in an immersive audio experience that truly brings content to life.
Amazon's most powerful immersive smart TV also features a built-in far-field technology for hands-free voice control using Alexa. Additionally, the TV's light and color sensor adjusts brightness and colour temperature based on the room's lighting conditions, ensuring optimal viewing at all times.
The new Omni Mini-LED series will expand Fire TV's industry-leading support for the Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) protocol with Dual Audio. This feature enables high-quality audio delivery to ASHA-enabled hearing aids, catering to a broader audience.
The Fire TV Ambient Experience, a unique feature of the Fire TV lineup, has been enhanced with a high-fidelity radar sensor. This new addition powers a feature that transforms motion into art, adding a touch of creativity to your living room. Later this month, the Ambient Experience will add 100 new pieces of artwork, including new motion art, landscape, underwater, and NASA space photography.
The Ambient Experience's new feature dynamically responds to movement in front of the TV, creating scenes like fluttering butterflies, swimming koi fish, and colourful tiles. Amazon's popular Prime Video service also introduces a new feature, X-Ray Recaps, which uses generative AI to recap what you're watching.
The Fire TV Omni Series, Amazon's first-ever TV designed to mix Fire TV's content-rich entertainment experience with smart features, paved the way for the Omni Mini-LED Series. Since its launch in 2014, Amazon has sold over 250 million Fire TV devices globally, a testament to the popularity of its smart TV offerings.
However, exact sales figures for the new Fire TV Omni Mini-LED series, Fire TV Soundbar Plus series, or the Fire TV 4 series are not yet available.
With the new Fire TV lineup, Amazon continues to push the boundaries of what a smart TV can do, offering a seamless blend of technology, entertainment, and design.
