Amanda Knox's Current Status: An Overview of Her Life a Decade Post Exoneration
Amanda Knox, the American woman who was embroiled in a high-profile murder case in Perugia, Italy, in 2007, is back in the limelight with her executive production of Hulu's miniseries, "The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox."
Knox, who was accused of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, has been a prolific figure in the media since her release from prison. She has hosted five seasons of SundanceTV's The Truth About True Crime and published two memoirs, "Waiting to Be Heard" and "Free: My Search for Meaning." In 2023, she published her second autobiography, 'Goodness and the Scandal: The Amanda Knox Story.'
The miniseries revisits the murder of British exchange student Meredith Kercher and the subsequent trial of Knox and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. Knox stated that she never felt like she had the power to prove her innocence during the case. In 2009, she was convicted and sentenced to 26 years in prison, but her conviction was overturned in 2011. She was later retried in 2014 and briefly re-convicted, but was definitively acquitted in 2015.
Grace Van Patten stars as Knox, Sharon Horgan and John Hoogenakker as her parents, and Giuseppe De Domenico as Sollecito in the miniseries.
In addition to her work in the media, Knox is also involved in criminal justice reform. She works with the Innocence Project and spoke at the first edition of the Criminal Justice Festival in Modena, Italy, in 2019.
Knox and her husband, Christopher Robinson, launched the podcast Labyrinths in October 2020. The podcast features conversations about their relationship as well as interviews and debates with a range of guests. As of August 2025, the program has released more than 202 episodes.
The couple has two children, a daughter named Eureka, born in August 2021, and a son named Echo, born in September 2023.
The miniseries, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, is now available for streaming on Hulu.
