In a significant move to boost the electronics industry, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, during a meeting held at Amaravati on Thursday, approved proposals by Hindalco Industries Ltd and Syrma SGS Technology Ltd.

The State Cabinet has agreed to allot 26.70 acres of land for Hindalco's proposed aluminum Extrusion Facility, which is expected to make Andhra Pradesh an important player in the global electronics supply chain. The location of the facility has not been specified yet, but the project is estimated to invest ₹1,595 crore.

Meanwhile, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd, along with its joint ventures, received approval to set up a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), Copper Clad Laminate (CCL) plant, and an Electronics Manufacturing unit. The project, planned to be located at Nayudupet in the State, is expected to generate 2,168 jobs and contribute significantly to the regional economic development.

The aluminum Extrusion Facility, once operational, will produce high-quality aluminium products that will benefit companies like Apple, according to the State Cabinet. The proposal for setting up this facility was cleared under the State's Electronics Components Manufacturing Policy 4.0 (2025-30).
