Obituary: Alton W. Good (1947-2025)

Alton W. Good, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on August 24th, 2025, at Luther Acres Nursing Home in Lititz. He was born in Ephrata and was the son of Norman B., Jr. & Emma (Weiler) Good.

Al Good attended LCBC Church in Ephrata for many years and his celebration of life service will take place at the same location, 6 Hahnstown Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522, on Saturday, September 6th. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, following a visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Beyond his professional life, Al Good enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an avid ice hockey player, fast pitch softball player, car enthusiast, and enjoyed open track days. He also loved winters in Florida.

Al Good started A&W Screen Printing, Inc. in 1984, where he spent many years serving his community. His service extended beyond his professional life as he drove for the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program.

Al Good was married to Jane Shirker for nearly 43 years and together they raised three children: Kristy (Brent) Firestone, Heather (Christopher) Sweinhart, and Jason (Jessica) Good. He was also a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren: Kaitlin (Matthew) Karmilowicz, Riley (Laura) Firestone, Reece (Paige O'Donnell) Firestone, Sierra Wright, Kerek Wright, Avery Good, & Dylan Good. Al Good was also a proud great-grandfather to Brooks Karmilowicz and Warren Karmilowicz.

Al Good is survived by seven siblings: Clifford (Yvonne) Good, Curvin (Joy) Good, Thelma (Clarence) Martin, Wilmer (Elaine) Good, Janet (Hudson) Hughes, Lois (Estes) Proudfoot, Norman (Jamie) Good. He is predeceased by a brother-in-law, Bruce Shirker, and a great-granddaughter Lillian Karmilowicz.

During his final stage of life, Al Good was supported by the Lancaster Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, contributions for Alton W. Good are appreciated to the Lancaster Hospice Care; 685 Good Drive Lancaster, PA 17601.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Al Good's name to Lancaster Hospice Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. The family will announce a memorial scholarship in Al Good's name at a later date.

A celebration of life service for Al Good will be a time to remember his life, love, and legacy. It will also be a time to express condolences and support to his family.
