Altercations at the Werder's Cycling Track...

In an unexpected turn of events, the Bremen Police had to intervene during a fan bike demonstration for SV Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon. The procession, which started from the University Lake and was headed towards the Weser Stadium, did not adhere to the agreed route, causing a minor traffic accident between a cyclist from the group and a tram near the Sielwall intersection.

The procession was stopped in the area of the Gustav-Deetjen Tunnel at the main station by deployment forces. Some participants initially broke through a police barrier, leading to the immediate intervention of the police officers. Reinforcement police forces from Bavaria were brought in to support the Bremen police during the incident.

The incidents led to investigations for dangerous bodily harm and insult. Several people were reported to have attacked the tram driver, who sustained minor injuries. Police officers intervened immediately, using direct coercion, including the use of physical force and batons, to rescue the man and restore order.

Nils Matthiesen, the contact person at the Press Office of the Bremen Police, confirmed the incident. The Bremen Police department can be contacted for inquiries at the Press Office, with Matthiesen's telephone number being 0421 361-12114. The official website of the Bremen Police is www.polizei.bremen.de, and they also have a consultation website at www.polizei-beratung.de.

In addition, it was reported that Bremen ultras insulted police officers from Bavaria during the operation. Further evaluations are ongoing in the investigations.

Approximately 600 supporters of SV Werder Bremen started the joint bicycle procession, adding to the intensity of the situation. The police have urged fans to respect the rules and regulations during such events to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
