Almaty Part Affected by Water Shortage: Cold Water Supply Interrupted

Almaty city residents in certain districts have been notified of a planned water shutdown scheduled for August 26, 00:00 to August 27, 00:00. The affected areas include Abaya - Saína - Shalyapin - Ashimova, Shalyapin - Saína - Zhandosov - Yassawi, Zhandosov - Bolshaya Almatinka River - Al-Farabi - Saína, Zhandosov - Saína - Askarova - Kargaly River, along Dulati, and in the microdistrict Khan-Tengri.

This water shutdown is part of ongoing reconstruction activities in the city, with the aim of replacing technological equipment on water supply networks. The affected areas have been specifically identified and announced by "Almaty Su".

The water supply problem in the Alatau District of Almaty is also promised to be solved by the end of the year as part of these reconstruction activities. It's important to note that the water shutdown is not an emergency situation, but a planned maintenance activity.

During the work, a decrease in pressure in the Altynsarin - Shalyapin - Saína - Abaya contour is expected. The water shutdown is expected to affect the water supply in the specified areas, and normal service will be restored once the maintenance work is completed.

Residents seeking further information can contact "Almaty Su" at the phone number 8 (727) 274-66-66. It's also worth mentioning that the increase in tariffs for communal services in Kazakhstan, which was previously planned, has been postponed, although a potential increase by the end of the year has not been ruled out.

The area around Koshkarbaev Street and a part of Baitursynov Street in Almaty will also be affected during the same time period. The water supply in this area will be interrupted between 00:00 am August 26 and 00:00 am August 27.

The city encourages residents to plan accordingly and conserve water in the days leading up to the shutdown to minimize disruption. The water supply issue and the planned maintenance activities are part of a larger effort to improve the city's infrastructure and ensure a reliable water supply for all residents.
