Invest BW Announces Second Funding Call for 2025

The Innovation Funding Program "Invest BW" is gearing up for its second funding call in 2025, with a total budget of 149 million euros. This program, overseen by Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism, aims to support the innovation activity of Baden-Württemberg's economy.

Eligible applicants for this funding round include companies of any size, start-ups, and research institutions. The application window will open on 8th May 2025 and close on 8th July 2025, with submissions to be made via the Invest BW website.

To help potential applicants, a web seminar is scheduled for May 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM. This seminar will provide detailed information about the funding call and the application process. Registration for the web seminar is available online.

The program is designed to make the application process more user-friendly. It introduces a sample-based usage proof check, reduces project sketch requirements, and allows for personal pauses for sketch submission.

The funding call will provide a sum of 16 million euros for the implementation of project ideas in the thematic areas of "Virtual Worlds, Digital Twins, Blockchain and Cybersecurity" and "Machine Building, Robotics, Security and Defense". The selection of these topics aligns with the future visions outlined in the impulse paper by the technology commissioner of the Minister of Economics, Prof. Dr. Katharina Höhl.

In addition, the themes for this funding call are "Health and Life" and "Materials and Resources". Submitted projects will be evaluated based on established funding criteria and competitive aspects.

The second Invest BW funding call in 2025 is planned for the third quarter. For more details and information on the application process, selection, evaluation, funding call, and administrative guidelines, please refer to online resources.

For inquiries, contact the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism through their press office or citizen representative. The responsible institution for the implementation of the second Invest BW funding round in the third quarter of 2025 is not explicitly mentioned in the provided search results.

Since 2021, the program has funded 839 projects with a total volume of 916 million euros and a funding sum of around 330 million euros. The program has been instrumental in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups in increasing their innovative strength.
