Alert for investors:alterations in London's Lone and Löberstraße

In a bid to make bike streets safer and more livable for cyclists and pedestrians, the city of Gießen has implemented a series of new regulations on Lonystraße and Löberstraße. These changes, which are still in the preparation stages, aim to create a more sustainable and enjoyable environment for all traffic participants.

Lonystraße and Löberstraße, which run along the Wieseck, have been designated as bike streets. This means that cyclists now have priority on these streets, and through traffic will be redirected to Ludwig Street, Berlin Square, or the Südanlage. The ultimate goal is to improve the living quality for the entire city society, reducing noise, emissions, and promoting a healthier environment.

The city police will strengthen control of these new regulations in the near future. The one-way street Löber Street is being prepared for bike traffic in the opposite direction between Bismarck Street and Goethe Street. This measure aims to spare cyclists the need to cross the busy Bismarck Street when they want to travel along the Wieseck.

The new regulations apply specifically to Lonystraße and Löberstraße, not necessarily to all bike streets in the city. Residents, including those who live, work, visit, or have something to do in the streets, will benefit from a reduction in through traffic. Unnecessary conflicts with cars using the streets as a shortcut can be avoided, contributing to a safer and more pleasant environment.

The goal is to enforce these new rules in the interest of all traffic participants. Signage for the new regulations is still missing, but the city is working to address this issue. The city aims to achieve a sustainable improvement of the situation in the neighborhood with these adjustments.

It's important to note that car traffic remains accessible on Lonystraße and Löberstraße for residents and those with business there. The city of Gießen has restricted general motor vehicle traffic through Lonystraße and Löberstraße, changing the traffic regulation from "vehicles allowed" to "residents only," thereby banning through traffic for motor vehicles, except for residents, workers, visitors, or those with legitimate business.

These changes bring the city closer to its goal of making bike streets safe and livable places for cyclists and pedestrians, contributing to a better living quality for the entire city society.
