The Young Chef Olympiad (YCO) 2026 concluded with a spectacular showcase of global culinary talent in Kolkata, India. Enri Cuedari from Albania claimed the top prize, earning the title of world champion in a competition that celebrated both tradition and innovation.

The event brought together young chefs from around the world under the theme Preserving the World's Global Culinary Heritage through AI. After intense rounds, the final ten contestants presented their skills at IIHM's Global Campus in Kolkata, with the grand finale held at Wet-O-Wild, Nicco Park complex.

Enri Cuedari's victory placed Albania at the forefront of the competition. Dominic Thomas Grundy of England secured second place, while Vidanagamage Rumira Reshan Piyasiri of Sri Lanka finished as the second runner-up. Maelyss Helene Parrot of France took home the Plate trophy. One of the standout moments was the Dr Suborno Bose Challenge Trophy, where cross-border teams collaborated on a single dish. Ozodbek Odilov of Uzbekistan and Melquirudi Leki-Bere da Cunha of Timor Leste won this special award, demonstrating the event's spirit of unity. Professor David Foskett, MBE, Chairman of the Grand Jury, noted how the competition had evolved into a platform for collaboration rather than just rivalry. Dr Suborno Bose, Founder-Chairman of IIHM, described the Olympiad as an example of *culinary diplomacy in action*, highlighting how food bridges cultures and fosters international connections.

The Young Chef Olympiad 2026 not only crowned a new champion but also reinforced the role of culinary arts in cultural exchange. With participants from diverse backgrounds and a focus on innovation, the event set a benchmark for future editions. The winners will now carry forward their achievements as ambassadors of global gastronomy.
