Agitated individual assaults bystanders in Neu-Isenburg, subsequently hospitalized in a psychiatric facility
In the city and district of Offenbach, a series of unsettling incidents have taken place over the past few hours.
At around 2 PM, a 72-year-old woman was pulled off her bike at the intersection of Offenbacher Street / "Am Erlenbach". Witnesses reported a man, described as approximately 1.80 meters tall and wearing a brown-green jacket, as the perpetrator. The man fled with the stolen bike after the incident.
Fifteen minutes later, a similar incident occurred in the area of the Gravenbruchring. A young mother was assaulted as she walked with her child and two dogs in the woods. The man attacked the mother from behind and attempted to pull at the baby carrier of her child. The victim described the assailant as appearing confused.
Following these incidents, a criminal investigation was initiated against a 48-year-old man for suspected robbery. The police discovered the stolen bike from the first incident in a nearby wooded area. They arrested the suspect near house number 90.
The arrested suspect was treated in an ambulance on the spot, and later taken to a specialized clinic. Clothing items found nearby were later linked to the incident at the Gravenbruchring.
The police secured the stolen bike and returned it to the elderly woman after evidence processing. The investigation into the background of the incidents continues.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to come forward. They remind the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
