Agents from the federal government detected in Arlandria neighborhood, Alexandria, on a Friday

In the heart of Alexandria, a series of events unfolded on September 5 and in the preceding days, which have sparked concern and discussion within the community.

On that day, multiple vehicles with Texas license plates were spotted in the parking lot of The Birchmere, a popular music venue. The presence of at least seven federal vehicles, along with many federal agents wearing face masks, was reported. However, there were no arrests reported in the Arlandria neighbourhood on September 5.

The events of the previous days have also been marked by arrests. On August 19, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested two individuals in the Arlandria neighbourhood. A week later, on August 18, ICE agents detained 15 construction workers in the same area. The identities of those detained in both instances have not been released.

The arrests have drawn criticism from Alexandria City Council Member Canek Aguirre, who described the August enforcement actions as an "authoritarian regime hell bent on terrorizing communities."

ALXnow has reached out to Tenants and Workers United for comment but has yet to receive a response.

On September 5, a photo surfaced showing federal officers speaking to people at Four Mile Run Park near Casa Chirilagua. The nature of these interactions is not clear at this time.

It should be noted that there are no specific public records or reports indicating which authorities were present in Alexandria on September 5, 2025, nor whether interception operations took place against particular individuals on that date.
