Affordable Dolby Atmos Soundbars Introduced by Sharp, Representing the Most Economical Models Available

Sharp has made a splash at this year's IFA with the announcement of six new soundbars, promising a fusion of design luxury and high-end audio performance. The new lineup, which focuses on compact designs that won't obstruct TV viewing, includes the most affordable Dolby Atmos models to date.

Leading the charge is the Sharp Q Soundbar, a collaboration with Devialet, featuring a 5.1.2 system with wireless rear speakers. This impressive soundbar has recently received the EISA Soundbar System 2025-2026 Award. Another standout model is the HT-SBW320, boasting an ultra-slim design measuring just 3.6cm in height.

The new range caters to various preferences, with four of the six models supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. The HT-SBW320, for instance, packs 360W of power in a 2.1-channel configuration, thanks to neodymium speaker drivers. On the more affordable end, the lineup includes two 2.0-channel models: the HT-SB121 (120W, £65) and HT-SB145 (150W, £70).

For those seeking a simplified setup, the new range includes the Roku TV Ready feature, making it easier to integrate with Sharp's Roku TV models. Moreover, soundbar settings can be accessed directly through the TV interface. The system also uses an enhanced HDMI CEC protocol for single remote control operation.

While the sound quality of the new models remains to be seen, the company has reserved judgement until they are heard in person. As for pricing, details for the US and Australian markets have yet to be announced. However, it's worth noting that the new lineup does not directly compare with the superb £99 Sony HT-SF150 and Hisense HS214 2.1 in terms of pricing, as the prices for the new models have not been revealed.

All models in the range support HDMI eARC connectivity, Bluetooth wireless streaming, optical, and auxiliary inputs. The new soundbars from Sharp are set to hit the shelves in October 2025.
