"Affordable art is available through 'JAUNmarka'"
Get ready for an exciting artistic journey as JAUNmarka 2024 is set to return, showcasing the creative work of over 200 students from the Art Academy of Latvia (AAL). This annual exhibition, first launched 20 years ago during the Christmas holidays, will take place at the AAL auditorium on O. Kalpaka bulvāris 13, Rīga, from 14.12.2024 to 05.01.2025.
JAUNmarka offers visitors a unique experience, providing an opportunity to discover and support fresh talent while acquiring handmade art at reasonable prices. The exhibition features thousands of pieces, showcasing various types of art, including paintings, graphic design, ceramic and glass art, jewellery, fashion, and textile pieces.
This year, artwork selections for the exhibition will be made by invited public figures and experts from the culture and art sphere, both from Latvia and internationally. Agnese Apine, a representative of the AAL Student council and one of the organizers of JAUNmarka, describes the event as a special occasion that creates a sense of warmth and magnificence.
Agnese also notes that JAUNmarka signifies excitement and caring, as it showcases the unity and tireless preparation of students. The exhibition is updated regularly throughout its three-week duration, ensuring that visitors can enjoy multiple opportunities to discover new art throughout its duration.
The artists themselves will be present at the exhibition, adding a personal touch to the event. However, JAUNmarka 2024 will be closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1. Working hours for the event are from 11.00 to 20.00 each day.
JAUNmarka 2024 promises to be a must-visit event for art enthusiasts and those looking to support emerging talent. With its wide variety of artworks and the chance to meet the artists, it offers a truly immersive and enriching experience. Mark your calendars and get ready to be inspired!
