In the dynamic retail landscape of Vietnam, AEON, the Japanese retail giant, is making significant strides. By the end of the year, AEON is set to open two additional facilities in Hung Yen province and Ho Chi Minh City, following the recent opening of AEON Tan An in Long An province on September 23.

Strategically located on Hung Vuong Road, adjacent to National Highway No.1A and close to the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Expressway, AEON Tan An aims to serve not only the residents of Long An province but also those from neighbouring provinces. With a total floor area of approximately 27,000 square metres, the mall incorporates modern design with green spaces to create a sustainable shopping and leisure destination.

The opening of AEON Tan An brings AEON's modern retail model to Long An province. Mr. Tezuka Daisuke, the General Director of AEON Vietnam, stated that AEON aims to develop not only large but also more medium-sized shopping centers. AEON Tan An, designed to cater to residents within a 15-minute drive, is part of this strategy to meet the consumption and daily life needs of moderately populated communities.

In line with its commitment to environmental harmony and sustainable development, AEON Tan An hosted a Hometown Forest tree-planting ceremony. The mall, with its fresh spirit, modern style, and nature-friendly design, is set to contribute positively to the Long An district and Tay Ninh province.

Meanwhile, the retail market in Vietnam is expected to grow by 12% and remain in double digits in the coming years, providing a favourable environment for AEON's expansion.

In related news, AEON Bank and foodpanda have forged a strategic partnership, and AEON Financial Service and SeABank have agreed to resolve the PTF matter. Additionally, AEON Vietnam has made changes in its top leadership.

Vietnam also launched a "No Plastic Bag Day" campaign, further emphasising the country's commitment to environmental sustainability. As AEON continues to expand its presence in major cities and smaller markets, it is clear that the company is prioritising the development of medium-sized malls and integrating sustainable practices into its operations.
