Advisory Group for Senior Ranks
In the university town of Marburg, seniors from all parts of the city are invited to attend the monthly office hours of the Senior Council, an organisation that has been representing the interests of older people since July 1997.
On Monday, September 15, the office hours will take place at the advisory center with an integrated nursing point (BiP) from 2:30 PM to 4 PM. The Senior Council aims to have an "open ear" for all seniors, offering them a platform to discuss concerns, annoyances, or questions about specific topics with the members.
The council is supplemented by politicians from the factions represented in the city parliament and one representative each from the free welfare associations that offer services in the area of the elderly. This collaboration ensures a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of seniors in Marburg.
The exchange of experiences with peers during the office hours makes it easier to talk about problems, ideas, and wishes. The members of the Senior Council can provide advice and refer to appropriate institutions if necessary. The office hours are open for all concerns and are treated confidentially.
The Senior Council has already achieved several accomplishments, such as installing benches in the South Quarter and in Cappel. These benches offer an opportunity to rest and increase mobility for people with difficulty walking.
For those who are unable to attend in person, a new possibility is the option to speak and see each other digitally through a video conference. Registration is required for the digital meeting and can be done by calling 06421 201-1004 or emailing [email protected].
For more information about the office hours, contact Ilka Wolkau at the Business Office Senior Council, Social Services Department. Her contact information is 06421 201-1521 and [email protected].
While no specific organisation providing digital access to senior conversations on September 15 was found in the provided search results, organisations like the OÖ Seniorenbund and Kommunale Seniorenvertretung Münster offer digital services and events related to seniors.
